A Trak Boo Over set

It’s a weekly party summer party in LA during the daytime that features many bigtime DJ’s. The best thing about it is that the DJ’s play what they want. It’s an open format for all DJ’s and you wont hear hours of DJ’s chasing trends or conforming to mainstream. The crowd is there to appreciate good music. There needs to be more gigs like this for DJ’s to really express themselves.

I’ve been listening to this set nonstop by A trak for the past week. I’ve been following Atrak since his pre puberty battle days. The guy has definitely earned his stripes in the DJ world. From being a turntablist prodigy at 14 to now the hottest tastemaker in the hipster and DJ scene is amazing. He is arguably the top DJ in the game right now. Many turntablists have disappeared after the battle scene died down but Atrak took his success even further. Nobody can say he is wack and just popular from being Kanye’s DJ. He can just show his battle track record and his titles during the peak of turntablism and shut fools up. I’m glad he is at the upper echelon of DJ’s because DJing needs a guy like him to rep for the DJ’s with real skills and just not based on buzz and marketing.

This mix is mainly composed of 90′s hip hop and break beats here and there. I love how he keeps a party vibe going while rocking the golden era hip hop. Here’s the DL link
