So I finally decided to get back into blogging and I went all out and bought my own hosting and domain. In the past my blog has been a compilation of random thoughts that usually didn’t relate to each other. They were just more elaborate tweets. I didn’t have any direction for my blog so it went stagnant when I lost the desire to blog after my initial excitement.

My main objective for this new blog is to use it as my main platform for DJing. I haven’t DJed in a club in over a year nor do I have much of a desire to. With technology and social media DJ’s no longer need to spin 4-5 nights locally to be heard by a large audience. Plus in clubs you have to conform to mainstream demands. I love being able to spin what I enjoy listening to and I can’t always do that while spinning at clubs. I’m surprised more DJ’s haven’t really leveraged the internet and social media to broadcast their talents. I’m out to prove that you dont need 4 gigs a week nor need to be the the radio to be heard by a wide audience.

Another reason I’m blogging again is to show my knowledge in social media. In my local area a bunch of “Social Media Experts” have popped up. Most of them just tweet alot, follow thousands of random ass people, friend thousands of random people on Facebook, and retweet articles from Mashable. They really have nothing to show for themselves as far as success using social media. They’re pretty much online whores and just call themselves Social Media Experts. I’m not considering myself an expert but I’m learning as I’m going and I’m using these social media tools to benefit my DJ blog.

With my random ass mind I probably will still have nonsense posts but my focus is on music and DJing.
