With winter completely a thing of the past and people breaking out the shorts it’s hard not to think of summer. I wish it would come already because this pollen is KILLIN me! But this song just brings back memories of summer. This came out summer of 96  going into 8th grade. I was in the puberty stage when it was time to ditch the toys and cartoons and really be a teenager. I was spending my summer playing basketball everyday, watching music videos, and recording the top 8 @ 8 on cassette tapes. I didn’t have enough money to buy CD’s at the time so I had tons of tapes recorded off the radio. The late night count downs were always the best time to record songs off the radio because you knew exactly when they were going to start. This was one of the songs I really remember I had to have on tape that summer. It just had that laid back I summer vibe with the flyest verse from Puff Daddy. I remember in 8th grade all the guys thought it was cool to recite “cuz imma Bad Boy and Bad Boys do bad things if you kiss me right, I’ll put some karats in your ring.” Whoever ghostwrote that verse for Diddy back then was a genius! I wonder what the girls from Total do these days? They just fell off the face of the earth in like 2000
